How to Use Your PDF Label Template in Adobe Acrobat
Here’s how to add text and images to your PDF template from The Shipping Store in Adobe Acrobat, as well as how to troubleshoot misalignments. We’re working in Adobe Acrobat through this article, but the concepts apply across all programs.
How to Insert Text
Follow these steps to add text to your labels.
Step One: Open Your Template in Acrobat
- Download the PDF template for your label size from theshippingstore.com/templates.
- Locate your downloaded template file.
- Right-click the file and select Open with > Adobe Acrobat.
Step Two: Add Text
- Select Edit > Text.
- Click anywhere to place the text box and insert your text.
- Repeat this process or use Ctrl + C (Windows) or Cmd + C (Mac) to copy and Ctrl + V (Windows) or Cmd + V (Mac) to paste your text in the remaining labels.
Please note: Due to the nature of PDF files, the borders cannot be removed using this template.
How to Insert Images
Follow these steps to add images to your label sheet.
Step One: Open Your Template in Acrobat
- Locate your downloaded template file.
- Right-click the file and select Open with > Adobe Acrobat.
Step Two: Add Image
- Select Edit > Choose Image.
- Select the image file you want to insert.
- Click anywhere to place your image file. Drag the sides and corners to resize the image as needed.
- Repeat this process or use Ctrl + C (Windows) or Cmd + C (Mac) to copy and Ctrl + V (Windows) or Cmd + V (Mac) to paste your image in the remaining labels.

Please note: Due to the nature of PDF files, the borders cannot be removed using this template. We recommend dragging the edges of your image file over the borders to cover the outlines when possible.
For Printing and Troubleshooting Misalignments
Each computer, printer, and network is slightly different, so start with these general tips for troubleshooting alignment issues:
- Check that the sheet is properly loaded in the paper tray. Some printer models have an adjustable guide to ensure the paper doesn’t shift while feeding into the printer.
-
- Note: Templates have a 2mm tolerance. Ensure label pages are loaded correctly, and extend designs 1–2mm beyond label borders to avoid unprinted edges.
- Use the template’s default margins. If your prints are consistently skewed in one direction, you can make minor adjustments to the margins to compensate and realign.
- Set your print settings to print at "Actual Size" or "100% Scale." Using “Scale to Fit” or “Fit to Page” can alter the alignment. If your prints are fine in the center and become more misaligned as they radiate to the edge of the sheet, this usually indicates a scaling issue.
If you continue to see misalignments in your prints, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We appreciate pictures of your prints and screenshots of your print settings so we can better diagnose the cause.
